Dancers' Hike in Wild Horse Country
Our infamous dancer, Dave B., will be our tour guide for this
adventure.
We thought we'd try to get dancers together off the wood floor. If you
have never come out dancing with us and enjoy hiking, you are welcome to
join us. Maybe we'll dance at our destination. :-)
Meet: 4th floor of SE
parking garage at Santa Fe Station, south end
Date: Sunday, February 12
Time: Depart 11:00
AM...please arrive 15 minutes early to arrange carpools (return to cars
no later than 4:00 PM)
Hike Distance: Less than 2
miles
Difficulty: Easy
One of the most majestic sights in the mountains of Southern Nevada is
that of the wild horses. These beautiful animals are fairly plentiful in
an area NW of Las Vegas called Cold Creek. We will carpool out there and
hike in their territory.
Bring:
Lunch and snacks
Clothing layers (expect temperatures 20 degrees colder than the valley)
Water
Optional: carrots for the horses
DO NOT: Feed horses from
your vehicle or anywhere near the road. It is bad for them and illegal!
Keep in mind these animals ARE wild! Stay away from the backside.
Getting kicked by the back legs would be very bad.
The drive is about 80 miles roundtrip. Pay your carpool driver $5
towards gas and expenses.
